Impact Case: Zorgzaam010 (municipality of Rotterdam)

Zorgzaam010: a platform that sustainably strengthens residents, neighborhoods and social organizations in Rotterdam

Since 2017 we have been working in the municipality of Rotterdam with the platform Zorgzaam010 To a city where everyone is there for each other. Where everyone can ask questions (for help) and offer their services. One-time, weekly, or anywhere in between, in a safe way. It's proven with thousands of matches and millions of hours dedicated to the city and each other.

The challenge: working together smartly to create a strong, sustainable social foundation

In 2017, the Municipality of Rotterdam already had a progressive vision for the city's social well-being: only together can we achieve this, a city where everyone lives well. A strong social foundation, in other words.

Fortunately, the typical Rotterdammer is there for their neighbors. But to achieve this, residents must be able to connect with each other, safely. And preferably sustainably, so from the very roots of society. There was also a wealth of (untapped) knowledge about social welfare, prevention, and neighborhood assistance or volunteering among the diverse array of social workers in Rotterdam. How can organizations reach residents more easily, and vice versa? How can they learn from each other?

The challenge to bring this together sustainably was found in the Zorgzaam010 platform.

The solution: one safe, sustainable total solution that brings everyone together

Together with the municipality of Rotterdam, we developed an approach that leads to sustainable results and a strong social foundation:

• A platform, where residents and organizations can safely connect with each other on all matters related to volunteering: from requests for help (neighborhood assistance), volunteer work and the range of help available, to training and an overview of all social meeting activities per neighborhood.
• Activationto involve all residents and get them involved. A platform doesn't work by itself. From a "tasty" collaboration with Ben & Jerry's (Zorgzaam010 ice cream!), a traveling photo exhibition throughout the city and outdoor advertising, to thank-you gifts on Volunteer Day.
• An ambassador network, where knowledge sharing and expertise development are central, ensuring that the platform is broadly supported and continues to develop and improve.

In addition, the support services ensure unburdening and efficiency: screening & monitoring, helpdesk, interactive data reporting and advice on where opportunities lie and how to exploit them.

All of this results in a rock-solid result that everyone, including the platform's 33.000 participants, can be incredibly proud of. A big 10 for Zorgzaam010!
